Ever had a colleague tell you about her fabulous fundraising results and wondered, how did she do that? Well, we’ve all been there searching for the right combination of activities and programming that will yield the best fundraising results. But aside from trial and error, how do we know if we’ll be able to replicate someone else' success? Is it the new strategy that's working, or some combination of external factors making or breaking the effort?
In this session, you’ll hear about research conducted with 162 advocacy organizations on their use of five common fundraising practices: 1. matching campaigns, 2. sustainers, 3. high-dollar giving clubs, 4. conditional ask strings, or 5. second-gift asks-- and our journey identifying independent variables and collecting data to test their success. Part way through the session we’ll ask you to complete a survey about your own organization and feed it into the model. Join this session for a “work-in-progress” and help write the rest of the story.
- Participants will learn what factors to consider when deciding on fundraising practices to use.
- They will see how various fundraising practices impact annual revenue.
- The research is intended to help fundraising professionals develop their annual fundraising plans and get buy-in when presenting to staff and volunteers.
